Service was amazing, ambience was awesome and food was beyond words. Absolute A+++. No extended wait times. We ordered a banzai roll, sumo roll and one basic roll (yellowtail and cucumber I believe). Flavor was on point. Freshest raw fish I’ve ever had! They serve cold lemon water when you arrive and seriously the service was impeccable! We were offered wet napkins mid-meal and they kept making sure we didn’t need anything. I just can’t emphasise how fresh and flavourful the sushi was though. Portion sizes were also quite generous! Also the prices were so affordable, I thought I was being click baited when I heard about in on Instagram but it really was as described. Will definitely come again and will bring more people!! Also I had a misunderstanding, I’m sure others might too, it’s much more a sushi restaurant and not really a “market”.

The best sushi in Chicago, hands down! This place is a hidden gem. Everything is so fresh. They have quick service, draft beer, large cuts for sashimi, etc. I recommend the summer roll, spicy tuna, and all of the sashimi. We have also ordered the sushi trays to-go for parties, which was a total hit.

Lawrence Fish Market, right in the heart of Chinatown, is a hidden gem that offers delicious food, excellent value, and options for every budget. The staff is friendly, professional, and always welcoming. My personal favorite is the avocado roll—fresh, simple, and absolutely delicious. If you haven’t been there yet, stop by and see for yourself why so many people love this place!

If you haven’t been to Lawrence Fish Market, you are seriously missing out. This place is a total sleeper and an absolute hidden gem. From the outside, it looks unassuming, but the moment you get your food, you realize you’ve stumbled onto something truly special. The food is incredibly delicious and exceptionally fresh. The udon broth is rich, comforting, and perfectly balanced, packed with thick, chewy noodles, vibrant green scallions, seaweed, and classic fish cakes. The ramen is equally stellar, featuring a deeply savory, slightly spicy broth, perfectly tender meat, crisp bamboo shoots, wood ear mushrooms, and fresh green onions that tie the whole bowl together. As for the sushi, the quality speaks for itself. The rolls are beautifully constructed with vibrant, high-grade tuna and salmon, crisp cucumber, and perfectly seasoned rice, alongside excellently fried, crispy rolls drizzled with a fantastic, flavorful sauce. Fantastic quality sushi for a great price. The staff was exceedingly polite. I liked all the decor and it's got a full fish market onsite as well, as the name implies. I got some of my favorite rolls and then asked if there was anything they recommend so I tried the ikura or salmon roe. Wow very reminescint of high quality caviar, little bursts of salty flavor. This also might be some of the best unagi / eel sushi I've ever had, the eel sauce is fantastically sticky and sweet and the entire thing was an incredible bite. Lastly the yuzu cheesecake was a fantastic dessert, tons of that citric yuzu flavor and then a rich dense cheesecake. 10/10. Can't wait until I'm in the area again.
